Meet Alissa
Alissa is an experienced Nutritional Therapy Practitioner with particular expertise in brain health, cognitive decline and neurodegenerative conditions. She graduated with Distinction from the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) and spent several years working within a leading functional medicine clinic, supporting clients with complex, chronic and often undiagnosed health conditions.

Alissa is Bredesen-trained and specialises in supporting people with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), dementia and neurodegenerative conditions, as well as those looking to reduce their risk of cognitive decline and Alzheimer’s disease. She has undertaken advanced training in neurodegeneration and prevention strategies for people with an increased genetic risk of Alzheimer’s, including APOE4. She also has expertise in supporting adults with ADHD.

Alongside her nutritional and functional medicine work, Alissa is a trained Qi Gong and Tai Chi teacher and an experienced breathwork practitioner and teacher. She brings these additional tools into her work with clients, helping to support nervous system regulation, resilience and balance as part of a truly holistic approach to brain and mental health.

Alissa is an intelligent, deeply compassionate and thoughtful practitioner who takes time to understand the whole person behind the symptoms. She combines a rigorous, evidence-informed approach with warmth and empathy, creating highly personalised programmes that clients can realistically integrate into their lives.
"NOTHING IN THE BODY FUNCTIONS IN ISOLATION; ALL OF ITS SYSTEMS ARE INTERCONNECTED. THEREFORE, THE WHOLE PERSON MUST BE CONSIDERED WHEN OPTIMISING HEALTH AND PREVENTING DISEASE." Alissa Powell
Alissa is fascinated in the interconnections between mind and body and has a special interest in autoimmunity, gut health, respiratory issues and low mood & anxiety. Passionate about staying at the forefront of her field, she regularly keeps up with the latest research and delves into scientific journals, ensuring her advice is grounded in the best available evidence.

In addition to her work as a Nutritional Therapist, Alissa is a certified Buteyko breathwork instructor, using breathwork as a complementary tool to help people manage anxiety, depression, panic disorder, respiratory conditions, and fatigue. She is also a published author of a children’s mindful breathing book and a Qigong instructor.

Outside of work, Alissa enjoys cooking and developing new recipes, staying fit through Qigong, yoga, and weightlifting, travelling, and spending time in her garden reading or tending to her vegetable patch.

Before following her passion for health and wellness, Alissa worked as a web and graphic designer, and ran a successful annual jazz festival. She was born in the USA, lived for several years in Australia, and settled in the UK 20 years ago with her husband and children.
